Microblading - Microshading

The Technique

Microblading, also known by a variety of names such as eyebrow embroidery or microstroking.

Microblading is a form of tattoo artistry where pigment is implanted into the upper layer of your skin with a manual handheld tool instead of a machine.

Similar to permanent makeup brow treatments using a machine, the Microblading technique involves drawing individual, crisp hair strokes that are very natural looking.

This technique is a unique process tailored to benefit individuals who desire brow definition, to cover gaps of lost hair, to extend an area, or full reconstruction if the brows have little or no hair.

The Treatment

The treatment begins with drawing on the desired shape with a pencil, then coloring in the area to plot the shape and style you prefer. The color choice is client specific and is mixed using a natural selection of micropigments to complement hair color and skin tone.

Varying shades of hypoallergenic micropigments react differently with each skin type and fade accordingly, depending on skin regimen, sun exposure, environmental and after care precautions.

Microblading lasts between 12 – 18 months if proper aftercare instructions are maintained. The treatment is typically a 2 step application process, the initial appointment includes consultation and initial application, the second appointment in 4 weeks to touch up and ensure longevity of the colors used.

The Treatment

aftercare

It is important after the treatment not to touch the area for minimum 3 hours.
After the three hours beginning step it is advised to wipe the tattoo with a damp cotton wool pad with water and neutral soap, to remove any lymph liquid.
Pat dry and apply a thin layer of regenerating and hydrating cream.
Repeat this process every 3 hours the first day.
Following days twice a day for a week.

The whole point is to remove any lymph liquid so that the tattoo will not scab over. The less scabbing the more colour retention and the better the healed result.
Do not let the tattoo dry out and let the natural healing process take place.
You will know when they have healed because your skin will feel soft with no flaking.
everyone´s skin is different. It is important to remember that this is a two-part process and the touch-up treatment will complete the procedure.

Some strokes will disappear and re-appear in 2 or 3 weeks and not all strokes will remain. This is normal and this is why you need a touch-up treatment 4 weeks after the initial treatment when we insert new pigment where the pigment was lost.

during the healing process:
do not use creams, make-up or products on the treated area.
do not soak the area in water. You can shower as normal but keep the area out of the shower spray the best you can and do not let the area stay wet for more than a few minutes.
no sauna or swimming.
avoid heavy sweating.
no rubbing, picking or scratching the treated area.
avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after the treatment.
no facials, botox, peels, microdermabrasion, laser or other treatments for 4 weeks after the treatment.
